If there’s a common sight around shorelines almost everywhere in North and Central America, it’s “The Keeper of the Reeds,” i.e., the Red-winged Blackbird. This jet-black body and bright red and yellow feathers on the male’s shoulder are a clear standout. I’m fortunate enough to live where they collect and “swirl” in the sky like clouds moving in and out.
